Snow hits Junction City and Geary County

Scanner traffic at 12:55 p.m. indicated the Geary County Sheriff's Office has activated the Accident Reporting Plan for the county.

Those involved in an accident without injuries are to exchange insurance information and fill out a accident report with the sheriff's office within 24 hours.

If an accident involves injuries, dial 911 for medical services.

Snow fall entered the county late Friday morning and has blanketed the area with more than one inch of snow. The National Weather Service predicted the snow was to be less than one inch in a published forecast over night.

Interstates 70 and 77 have partial snow covering according to the Kansas Department of Transportation website, kandrive.org.

Check back for further details as the snow continues to fall.
