Arbor Day artist

Junction City commissioners recognized Sheridan Elementary School's Ashley Picazo during Tuesday night's meeting. Picazo won the state's Arbor Day poster contest, and her poster was on display for commissioners. Junction City Public Works Director Ray Ibarra said it was the first time the department — which accepts entries for the contest — had a local student win the contest. Picazo is pictured with Ibarra (right) and Junction City Mayor Pat Landes.
