Community members introduced to new USD 475 superintendent

New USD 475 Superintendent Dr. Reginald Eggleston (second from right) and his wife (right) met with members of the Junction City community Thursday at the C.L. Hoover Opera House.

Unified School District 475 officials hosted an event Thursday morning that allowed community members to meet newly-appointed Superintendent Dr. Reginald Eggleston.

Those in attendance enjoyed light refreshments and were offered an opportunity to meet with Eggleston and his wife. Eggleston was named the new district’s superintendent in late December of last year. He has more than 20 years of experience working in education.

Eggleston said he is looking forward to working with other officials within the district.

“We know what we need to do to create the right atmosphere for success, and we are excited to do it,” he said.

In addition to his prominent educational background, Eggleston served as the commander of the commander of the 4/413th Senior Reserve Officer Training Corps Battalion at Fort Knox, Ky. Eggleston has served as a high school principal, a director of special education and student services, an assistant superintendent, a chief administrative officer/superintendent and a director of pre-intervention strategies.

Eggleston was asked what he was most excited for in his new role.

“I’m most excited to meet and work with the people,” he said. “Junction City has been such a warm and welcoming place.”

District Marketing Coordinator Casey Zipp said Eggleston has already talking been about new initiatives which have staff excited.
