Junction City High School returned from the State Solo and Ensemble Music Festival with high marks this past weekend, building upon the momentum the school’s music talent started earlier this semester. Of 34 JCHS events entered in the 2017 KSHSAA State Solo and Ensemble music festival held Saturday, 22 — 65 percent — earned a 1 rating, Students brought home a total of 78 gold medals from this contest:

Vocal performances including three of the four ensembles and 12 of the 14 soloists earn a 1 rating — the highest rating possible. The JCHS Band had five of its nine soloists who took part in the competition earn a 1 rating and two of the three soloists who attended from the orchestra earned a 1 rating.
