The Junction City Police Department and the Kansas Highway Patrol teamed up Friday afternoon to foil a kidnapping after a child was stolen from Junction City.

The JCPD received help from the KHP in locating an one-year-old infant boy who was kidnapped on the 1000 block of Sixth Street in Junction City. The KHP confirmed Saturday that troopers assisted in chasing down the kidnappers, helping to locate the pickup truck driven by the kidnappers on the Kansas Turnpike west of Lawrence Friday afternoon. The KHP confirmed Saturday that the baby was safe and unharmed.
