There will be no garbage pick-up service by Junction City crews on Monday, May 27, due to the Memorial Day holiday.

Garbage will be picked up according to the following schedule:

• Customers with Monday scheduled as their regular service day will have garbage picked up on Tuesday, May 28.

• Customers with Tuesday scheduled as their regular service day will have garbage picked up on Wednesday, May 29.

• Customers with Wednesday scheduled as their regular service day will have garbage picked up on Thursday, May 30.

• Customers with Thursday scheduled as their regular service day will have garbage picked up on Friday, May 31.

• Customers with Friday scheduled as their regular service day will have garbage picked up on Saturday, June 1.

In order to ensure service, trash should be set out by 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. Carts should be removed from curbs and alleys by the following day of a scheduled pick up.  For example, Monday’s pick up will need to be set out by 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, and removed by 6 a.m. Wednesday morning. Additional items that are set out may require customers to make arrangements for a special pick-up service.

Customers with questions should call Junction City’s Department of Public Works at 785-238-7142.

The department will begin its summer schedule hours starting Tuesday, May 28. On that day, the department will be starting service at 6:30 a.m. in an effort to overcome the heat during the summer months. All city sanitation customers should have their garbage on the curb or alley by 6 a.m.
