Change of Command

In a change of command ceremony Friday morning, Col. Stephen Shrader assumed his new role as Garrison Commander of Fort Riley. 

Shrader assumed command from Col. John Lawrence. Lawrence had served as Garrison Commander for two years, arriving in 2016. 

Shrader has been in the Army since 1995, when he received his commission as an infantry officer. He most recently served as the Director of the Combined Joint Operations Center, Resolute Support Mission in Kabul, Afghanistan.
