Three people died in a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning on Interstate 70 near the Kansas Highway 177 junction, about nine miles south of Manhattan.
The Kansas Highway Patrol responded to the incident at 5:36 a.m. A 2015 Chevy Camaro — driven by Leroy Allen Myers, 58, from Arab, Ala. — was traveling west on I-70. The Camaro entered the median, struck a guard rail, vaulted over the highway and came to rest under the overpass near K-177, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Myers, Joey Brannon Tidwell, 21 — from Albertville, Ala. — and Marie Halie Davis, 23, from Madison, Ala., were all pronounced dead at the scene. They were not wearing seat belts, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
