Junction City High School has announced that Basil Nevill will serve as the new Blue Jay volleyball coach.

Nevill, a kindergarten teacher at Eisenhower Elementary School, has served as an assistant volleyball coach for five years. He is also an assistant softball coach and middle school boys basketball coach.

"I've worked with the program for a few years now and we've had some success," Nevill said in a release from Unified School District 475. "We have a great foundation in place, and I look forward to the opportunity to continue building the program and reach new heights."

Nevill received his undergraduate degree in elementary education from Sterling College in 2008. He later received a Master's in athletic administration from the University of Central Missouri in 2016.

He is married to Kaley, and they have five children — Kinsley, Emma, Zayden, Alice and Harrison
