Precision Sports has announced that Junction City will be hosting a professional basketball team — The Junction City Command.

The Command has applied to join the American Basketball Association (ABA), joining the Topeka Sizzlers, St. Louis Spirits, Missouri Capitals, Lawrence Wizards and Dodge City Thunderbolts.

Shawn Smith, the director of operations for the Command, said he is pleased to bring a professional basketball team to Junction City.

“Junction City has a rich tradition, and we're looking to building our team off that rich tradition,” Smith said.

The Command is currently looking for coaches for the 2019-20 season, and there will be tryouts for players. Anyone interested can email lawrencewizards@gmail.com with a resume.
