LIBERTY, Mo. - The Junction City duo of Trae McDaniel and Tim Bell played a critical role in the Junction City Brigade's 13-5 win over the Liberty Monarchs Tuesday night.
McDaniel led the Brigade (2-4) with three hits and four RBI. Bell, meanwhile, joined Joseph Winkler with three hits a piece. Daniel Bachura, meanwhile, had another scoreless outing for the Brigade.
After two innings, Liberty led Junction City 3-2, scoring a run in the first and two in the second. But Junction City responded with two runs in the third and another in the fourth, taking a 5-3 lead. That held until the Brigade erupted for five runs in the eighth and three more in the ninth.
Jordan Alexander started and pitched three innings.
Junction City is off Wednesday; they host Sabetha Thursday. First pitch is at 7 p.m.
